Sad? Nothing sad here, except that your comment is judging someone's musical contribution to the world on a sample of one piece of music. If you don't like it, thats fine - but to use the word 'ridiculous'is very harsh when you know nothing of this guys talent - this vid is just a bite of the cherry...so maybe think about that next time before you go bagging out someone's work without really knowing anything about them.

I insist that calling "music" this ridiculously simple work with a sampler it
´s just plain ignorance. Music is much more than this (even the simpliest pieces of work from REAL composers are waaaaaaaaaay better than this BS). And his work with a sampler... well, let me tell you taht from my point of view, even another crapy so called "musiscian" as Imogen Heap deals with a s

Gee, i didnt know you could play more than 3 instruments, knew how jazz was formed and had any idea of how technology can do really cool shit and to entertain people. I also didnt know that you met and asked both Da Vinci and Dali what they thought about whether this is a form of art. You clearly have no sense of all that art encompasses. From my professional point of view, I couldn
´t possibly call this "music" or "art", with no intentions of disrespect. A good example of a master in sampling and electronics in comercial/pop music is Bjork. A good example of truly deep electroacustic non-comercial/non-pop music would be Bryan Eno, or Rodrigo Sigal. As I see it, there is more
to music than this. Saving all possible comparisons, I wouldn´t call reaggeton music either, for example. Have a succesful and Healthy life, my friend!

Mal Webb is not only a musical phenomenon but also a very inspiring and lovely person to be around. He beams positivity and doesn't show any of the arrogance I've seen from the comments some people have made; particularly hmoy. It's quite funny how seriously some of you take yourselves!

After reading all comments, here's mine. His music is full of fun & cleverness, as is the man himself. Maybe he shows off to get attention & approval, but people go to folk festivals for fun & frivolity, he provides it! Also, he inspires other musicians technically. If you are looking for emotional depth & maturity, music that satiates the soul, look elsewhere. He provides a child's sense of unrestrained fun and possibility with skilled technical ability. That can be appreciated for what it is.
