I must hand it to the Republicans, they know their constituency well. As McCain's campaign manager said, "This campaign is about personalities not issues." So we are offered an erratic old war hero who would love to "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" and a vacuous hockey mom with great designer glasses, and right wing nutters everywhere go gaga! Doesn't speak well of McCain or Republicans. McCain will lose this election because he yielded to the radical elements of his party.

Newt nailed it yet again. Notice...there was no response by the interviewer....none. I haven't yet heard anyone who is voting for the Messiah offer what I would consider a vaild response either.
The interviewer came out swinging so it's not like he was impartial to begin with. That's why he got cooked by Newt like he did.

He can not argue what Newt says, because it's TRUE. 50% of Americans need to wake up and FOCUS on what is REAL. They deny seeking the TRUTH for two reasons, the first reason, is they know what it is, simple, by agreeing, they will have to say they were WRONG, and the second reason, is because they are in the Obama FOG which PREVENTS them from thinking on their own. WAKE UP Obama supporters, Obama is a MISTAKE America can NOT afford.

If Newt ran for President I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. His ideas are excellent and he's a very intelligent man. He was not in favor of the bailout and had much a better plan that would have cost far less and worked far more effectively. The guy is sharp!

Gingrich is considered to be a "genius" of sorts by many self-indentified conservatives.
Unfortunately, this is only because conservativism, in general, has anti-academic tendencies. As a result you don't see too many conservative academics. Gingrich breaks this mold. He has a doctorate in history and a disdain for lawyers, many of whom become career politicians. The problem is that
you can't honestly be an ethical academic & STILL cling to conservative principles.
