The problem with MMA is that a lot of the respect and culture that MMA derived from is lost in the sport. People in the UFC are extremely disrespectful and exhibit MMA as a barbaric sport. I have been practicing martial arts for 12 years and trained in MMA. The MMA instructors never emphasize, respect and honor. They are only concerned with winning and being a meathead.

Martial arts is suppose to be about defending yourself not beating the shit out of someone and being barbaric. UFC athletes at least like Anderson Silva carry the martial arts spirit of respect with him bowing to his opponents and not talking shit. The vast majority are unemployed neanderthals with nothing better to do. Martial arts is not a fighting really it is a journey to make yourself a better person.
