This a wonderful theme and variations on the Widor. The use of such a variety of sounds and the changes of mood makes this really interesting to listen to; not to mention the wonderful technique of this organist! Who is he?

This is one of my favorite pieces...I have to say that taking Widor's composition and improvising on it takes an understanding of the actual score....I have heard of Arthur Nobile but never saw him play....now I see what people mean -- he's amazing!!!

I can imagine that "purists" would be angry, at least...and that maybe Widor would even be frustrated that someone has taken "his" melody and played with it...but Arthur seems to play the crowd and that's important -- when compared to some of the other organists on here...one can say for certain Nobile is offering us something new; and, yes -- the technique is amazing.

organist20....i disagree with you in two parts: 1) that which makes a good organist is being a good pianist..2) mozart was a "crowd pleaser, too...)...as for you "being shot" if you used gestures....that's really too strong of a statement...

ContreBombarde is true to his name: contrary - not a positive thing to say. How sad! He is one of the reasons very few are interested in or choosing to become professional artistic organists. Keep up the improvisation of great compositions, Arthur, and creating your own which you have demonstrated and proven. You have learned well from other greats like Diane Bish and Virgil Fox.

Taking the chance -- and that's what it is when one considers what the "purists" may say -- to put an improvisation as popular as this one up and improvising on the theme is very impressive!

I love the first theme out of almost all classical-contemporary music. Love the organ too. I'm interested in getting a used organ by Rodgers maybe. What model is it?

You all must be joking...or these comments are all posted by the same person. An improvisation is usually based on a theme, not an existing composition. This is a pastiche of sections lifted whole cloth from the original and interspersed with a few odd flourishes. What is the point?
