| zydecook agree; Eric Johnson was real good in the mid 80's but he peaked. He use to play dificult what I call motzart violin scales but he peaked. Danny Gatton is on another planet. No way to describe that! Yeah Steve Ray Vaughn is on everybodys top 10 list.Its very hard to make it just 10; I say you have to have at least 20!!! |

| zydecook Thanks, I'll have to check out Fahey and Clarence White, never heard of them. Bensusan I saw a concert video of him; pretty unique.Phil Keaggy I first heard of around mid 80's. I saw a couple concert videos and an instructional where he says Holdsworth, and Eric Johnson knocked him out the first time heard them. |

| i agree some serious heavyweights being mentioned...i was given dannys hotlicks video as a present for my 21st birthday(a good few years ago...heh heh) and was blown away..sadly missed and a real shame cause i think he would of eventully got wider recognition especially wih labels like steve vai's 'favoured nations' around now to bring guitar players to a wider audience.. thanks to the poster for the video as the only other i could find from this gig was 'one way rider'..... |
