Gordon Lightfoot is truly one of the great singer/songwriters of our time....it's a dying art sadly...I've been a fan of Gordon for years now, and his songs still ring true today and are still valid and poignant in these troubled times.
When my buddies and friends get together and pull our acoustics out, this and Sundown are definite must-plays... Thanks for the music Gordon...

Saw Gordon in Evansville Indiana last nite & i can't believe the difference in this video & what we watched last nite. We simply could not understand many of his words. I love his music, a great, gifted writer. I was disappointed in the show simply because of the inability of hearing his words. Band was super however.

Without this song, the story of the Fitz and the men who died on it would not known nearly as much as it is. Does anyone remember the Carl D. Bradley or the Daniel J. Morrel?

I love this song and you should check out tony rice's cover. I was a honeydipper at the time,, working at a motel east of Marquette. A cold miserable storm and I remember the radio kept saying they had "Lost contact" with the eddie fitz. that song, a while later, brought it home.
