All opinion but you don't need all the strings to make music. My favorite guitarist, Ricky Wilson of The B-52's only used 5 strings most of the time. I found out it isn't about impressing people, playing the fastest or the most skilled but rather playing what I want to play, Entertaining myself and expressing myself. And perhaps making others laugh.
