You need to understand that many people here grew up with the Carpenters - Karen was every bit a part of our lives as the Beatles were of lives in the 60s. When Karen died it was not just a footnote in the paper - news broke into national tv and radio to announce her death and then played tributes for months. For many this was as a harder loss than Lennon was for Beatles fans. So please try to have at least some dignity and respect for those who developed a sincere love for her gifts to society.

Here we see the drummer looking like a gorgeous Vulcan. Karen Carpenter was a phenomenon. Something like a biological stradivarius. Such rich and savoy tone her voice. I remember the original bank of america commercial airing when I was about seven years old, the advertisement was very beautiful, and the jingle (by john williams) was so elegant. And the following year I heard this song and couldn't stop laughing because someone had ripped it! - oh so cool! - HA HA - Kudos to the carpenters!
