| What? Didn't I say I plan on spending at least 20 years in the US Army, and hope to attain four-star rank during my service? How will I ever do that if I get myself killed? I don't hate people who are different than me, but some of them can upset me greatly and I don't like to mince words. I don't have any great desire to kill, I do not thirst for blood. But I'm a soldier; I must follow my orders, and when in battle, you have to take lives or have yours and your comrades' taken. |

| You know of General George S. Patton, yes? If there's a role model I try to follow, if I have someone who's like a hero to me, he's it. My views and sympathies fall very much in line with those that Patton once held. Psalm 63 was his favorite section of the Bible; I keep a Bible in my room and read Psalm 63 at least once a week. It's important for a soldier to stand in good with the Lord; if I can, I'd like to make a prayer of some kind before I go into battle for the first time. |
