Not sure about this. Having three events to train for leaves little time to piss about with stuff like this. Any effort may as well be specific to the event, ie swim bike run.

No actually, I think this one's ok. That is the ROM your leg will travel through in biking, so I think it probably is effective. Except for the reps recommendation. Thats bullshit. 15 to 20 reps? When the *#$% are you going to pedal your bike only 15 or 20 times? You'd need to do this exercise to failure, which should hit around 200 or 300 reps.

Yeah, I think that getting out on your bike would be a much better idea - or if the weather is poor, get on a static bike.

For those of you who seem to believe that you only need to ride your bike to get faster. I will see you at the finish line. An exercise like this (or tradition squats) will provide huge gains come tri season. The ROM strength exercise is a vital component of any training program.
