I am considering getting Studio Fix Fluid (im nc35 with select spf 15) would i need to get a lighter color since Studio Fix is thicker and it looks way darker?

Hi Koren,
I have really oily skin, with large pores, acne and deep acne scars. I have used Bare Minerals for two years, but I have noticed that it is breaking me out lately. I have tried MAC studio fix fluid before, but even with Smashbox Photo Finish it tends to show all of my pores and scars.
Please help me choose a good foundation for my skin :(

hi koren, i don't have acne, but i do have scars that it left behind, dark circles, and my pores around my nose could use work. i'm an african american with yellow undertones, and i was wondering if you could help me with what foundation would be good for me. i would like to give mac another try because it seems like it has good coverage. i don't know what happened at the store! lol i want full coverage that does not look cakey. any help??? thank you for your time, and videos!

Pls suggest me a foundation (any brand) for my face (haven't used any makeup/foundation , so far ;). My face is kinda dry (iam an indian ) and is there any foundation(mac/or any) which mosturises yet gives that dewy matte fresh look and doesnot make my face look patchy and stays long.. would really appreciate ur valuable suggestion cuz i think u are the best . pls help !!!

its best to try it and get a proper swatched. But for the most part its usually the same color number code. It might look darker on the bottle, but once on the skin, it will look different.

the deep acne scars, you are going to need to conceal first. You might want to try HD foundation too. Many brands are now starting to carry HD foundation - this tends to be effective in covering large pores.

hey meghan - definitely try to use a skin primer first. That will help mask the dark circles caused by the scarring. Then for foundation, try MAC Studio Stick or Studio Tech - it will give you coverage and not cakey looking. And its buildable.

i have a question. i have dry skin & i use select moisture blend foundation. i always make sure to moisturize before and i even bought fix+ to use over my foundation and powder aswell to set it. but for some reason i cant manage to get my makeup to stay on all day. it seems as tho only after a few hours my makeup is hardly visible what can i do about this? should i try a different foundation. also, what is ur fav. long wear concealer?

Hi Enkore :D Love the video but I have one question that I really need to know... Does "oil free" mean that it won't break you out? Because I can break out pretty easily and is there any way of ensuring that a foundation won't break me out? Hi Koren, I am a MAC virgin and was hoping you could suggest a foundation for me. I'm Korean and I have combination skin. My skin is light and I have slight discoloration but no noticeable acne/scars. I wanted a coverage that was not too heavy and looked natural (a lil dewy even). I was looking into studio fix fluid in NC25, Mineral Skin finish in Medium, and the spf 50 primer but wanted your opinion. Are there any other foundations/primers you would suggest? plus, which brushes should i use?

Hey Koren :) Hope you can help.... I have dry eczema prone skin, so quite allergic and sensitive. That, combined with my porcelain complexion, makes it incredibly hard to find a good foundation.

you can try using prep & Prime skin to help your foundation last longer and sticking to the skin. You might also want to try Studio Tech, and Moistureblend might be too emollient for you.

No, oild-free doesnt mean it will break you out. Pretty much any makeup ingredient can cause breakouts depending on how sensitive your skin is to a particular ingredient. What helps too is making sure the products you choose in non-clogging.

definitely use a Primer, it helps a great deal. For foundation, definitely look into mineral foundation, its lightweight and looks more natural.

well, Fix Fluid sets to a matte finish, so for Mineral SatinFinish Liquid is better if you want at sheen dewey finish. If you use liquid makeup, 187 stippler brush is best.

you want a Skin Primer - this will help control and seal in some of the oils your skin produces. If you have oily skin naturally, use Oil Control Lotion instead of regular misturizers. If its oil-free, its most likely to be water-based. So, its either oil-based or water-based
