People who say that the killers do a better version simply lack the appreciation of that 'extra dimension' a purpose and meaning gives to music.
Ian Curtis' lyrics are a story of his suicide.
Its interesting it has meaning and it is powerful.
Its not Brandon Flowers whining yet another bassless atrocity.

ehhh i dont really think so. The Killers made their own version and even though it was the same lyrics, it is a completely different song that should mean and be taken in as something completely different. I feel complete different spectrum of emotion when I hear each song.

No I do respect other music tastes besides my own, for instance i dont listen to Frank Sinatra but if someone said they liked his stuff I would respect their opinion so your wrong on that point, what i dont respect is people who have the cheek to say that the Killers version is as good/better than the joy division version. If you properly appreciate JD and music then you wouldn't for a second rate the Killers horrible version close to it, hence why your a moron

ehhh The Killers one is not completely different. you say it has the same lyrics but the song is completely different lol, the drumbeat is nearly identical, the melody is the same, the basslnes the same. the main difference is they use a really horrible synth sound in it and then leave out the best part of JDs shadowplay which is the guitar lick.

Joy Division has so much potential, I just don't like his voice, I mean why? Plus I don't know what people are talking about, the killers' version is way worse, the only good thing about it is no synth. and no crapy deep voice.

The Killer's version is too artificial for me. You can barely make out the guitar from all the other stuff. I like Joy Division's version because it's more simple rock and roll.
