Music died and creativity with it when the system took music class out. You would literally have to start from elementary school level because we've pretty much have a generation that is build on the ignorance of live music and true creativity. The late 60's through the mid 70's saw some of the most diverse acts whether be musical style, lyrics, voices etc. Also you notice that each act always wanted to be different than the other

Was there at the concert, best concert ever for me, started at midnight after regular show, the hall staff cut power at 4, War and Eric continued acoustic for anotehr 30 minutes. The smoke at the Olympia was so thick you could get stoned just by breathing! Sounds today like another planet

This must have been one of the last performances of Eric & War ever... Eric caught a double pneumonia and was forced to leave the band due to exhaustion shortly after.

I have to give Eric props for seeing this black and (I believe) Latino band touring the Bay area clubs and deciding he wanted to front them, lending his name and fame to a group who could easily have labored in obscurity w/o Eric's taking what was still a chance in those days. They were brilliant and he recognized it and Eric said: color be damned. I think this affirms that his commitment to black musical forms was real and that so was (is) he.

In April 71 they had their last concert. They reunited in April 2008 and will tour next summer. Eric does a Canada/US tour right now with his own "Animals".

As far as I know, the rumours of War touring again are just what they are - rumours. Eric has not confirmed it, and in the latest issue of the EBCN (Eric Burdon Connection Newsletter), Eric says there are no plans of doing this (sadly).

Yes, I've been to two concerts, one in Hamburg 2003 with his former band, and one in London in March 2006, where I met him after the gig.
