Strange how companies fucked up sequels in the NES. I mean Zelda II, SMB2 (Japan version), Castlevania II are all dissapointments. Only SMB 2 (Doki Doki Panic) was good because it innovated but stayed fun. All the three sequels I mentioned are very frustrating.

man I bought this game at kiddie city for twenty dollars back in 1991, I had to spend an extra thirteen dollars on a guide after I spent twenty hours trying to figure out where to go only to read that you had to kneel for a few seconds, I hate this game.

the only good aspects about this game is that the whole exploration element and buying/searching for equipment became a staple in the best, and some of the most recent Castlevania games like Symphony of the Night, and Portrait of Ruin.

Honestly I loved this game. It's damn near impossible to beat the Fucker! The only way I could beat this thing was by watching a video walk through of it. It's takes a long time to beat it, basically becasue it takes so fucking long to build up hearts; nevertheless I liked this game. I hated that there really was no hinting to help me out, and I fucking hated the night times. But I'm glad I did beat it. Guess I had nothing better to do.

Just a quick aside; falling in water kills the protagonist in all the Castlevanias for the NES, Genesis and Super Castlevania for the SNES, though I don't know about any of the other versions. So, I really don't know how that's a valid argument against this game.

No theme song, no guests... all gameplay footage. Even though it loops while he's explaining things, it's still pretty funny. Too bad he doesn't get really creative here... my fave comment of his ever is "it sucks so much fuckin suck, it suckin fucks". I forget which vid that was.
