Say this again when you have a solid base to say that. I know more about linux than I will ever need to and to answer this "graphics" oriented question you need only to know about DirectX.
DirectX is a Microsoft product and no OS other than Win will ever get a right to use it.
Yes there is openGL.But as name mentions (the "open" bit) it sucks. Both at speed and capabilities

stop screwing around and look at the main point. Linux is NOT a graphics oriented platform as well as Mac isn't, as well as any other minix based system.
And as a matter of fact no self-respecting (except one or two) commercial game developer will ever work on Linux game.
And as a matter of fact, I have no time to waste on this conversation.

Linux graphics doesn't suck, There are plenty of decent games that use OpenGL, But i must admit games that can use both DirectX & OpenGL like UT2004 do look sharper and smoother in DirectX, But that doesn't mean Linux Graphics sucks

Minix was a test operating system, only meant to teach students of how one can encapsulate complex computer architecture. Linux itself is actually a tweaked minix kernel.
and to assure you, no OS was ever meant to handle graphics (not even win). Just the fact that win kernel was later rewritten closer to directX so win now is the most graphical OS (not the f*** MAC: the great most of the macs have integrated graphics cards for christsakes)

I've asked plenty of profesionals about their oppinion of Window, and I get nothing but bad. In addition, it's well known that Amiga's computers were FAR more graphic orientented, given that I own an Amiga that renders 3D images created in the early 80s. It's also well known that many 3D effects in older movies were done by Amiga computers. In addition, Linux is NOT a tweaked Minux kernal at ALL, it merely inspired Linux. It's not even a microkernal, Linux is a monolithic kernel idiot.
