ahlam33,
You're wrong. DolittleZoo don't have a lot of knowledge. He has a lot of false knowledge about Islam.
Ali didn't marry 8 wives at once. Abdullah ibn Saad didn't suggest better verses. He left Islam & claimed he wrote different verses, taking advantage of Muhammad's illiteracy. But that was a lie. He wrote exactly what Muhammad said & there was other writers of the Koran to confirm it.

Gwisss seems to be another liar. The light tower of Alexandria was destroyed due to an earth quick in the 1300s, more than 600 years after the Islamic conquest of Egypt.
First let me put ... ( 1 day ago by DolittleZoo)
First let me put the record straight about Ali for in principle you may be right but in order to bypass the 4 wife limit the other exta relationships were with "slaves" two of whom were Humia and Umm Shuaib bore him 12daughters. Apparently while he was married to Fatimah old Mo wouldnt let him take a 2nd wife. Wonder what happened to the quranic rule of 4 when it came to his daughter. I was trying to find details of how 9 became 4 but if you got any details I would appreciate a link.
The issue you ... ( 1 day ago by Nawas7)
The issue you mentioned is presented with many details in the 4th Surrah of the Koran. However, you cant get the right instructions if youre violating the rules of interpretation. One of the most known rules is presented in Koran 3: 7
The point is the ... ( 1 day ago by Nawas7)
The point is the Koran is no kids toy. If you put an untrained person in the cockpit of a sophisticated plane, hed cause a disaster. & if you put a trained pilot in the cockpit, but who has an evil intention, hed cause a disaster too.
Likewise with a sophisticated book like the Koran, which covers all of the important life issues. A person whos ignorant of evil wont present the real meanings of all its verses.
Ali had 30 odd kids ... ( 1 day ago by DolittleZoo)
Ali had 30 odd kids, slave girls and 9 wives. with 12 kids coming from slave women. What is allegorical or confusing about this?? Did he divorce some wives yet kept them in the harem so he could still legally count 4. Why did Mo stop Ali marrying a 2nd wife where his favourite daughter is involved despite his 10+ marriages? I think you are contradicting,
54.32. And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?
حدثنا أبو بكر قال ... ( 1 day ago by Navigator20081)
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا حفص عن جعفر عن أبيه ونافع قال كانا لا يريان بأسا ببول البعير قال وأصابني فلم يريا به بأسا . muslims eat the meat and drink the urine of animals that what thier prophet said
Where is the rest ... ( 1 day ago by ahlam33)
Where is the rest of the hadith? Where is this from? Because there are people who drink and bathe in human urine, but you cant post that, can you? Why do people post half-ass stuff just to pick at Muslims?
The Koran is a book ... ( 23 hours ago by chained2it)
The Koran is a book. It was written for humans to understand. Otherwise, it is useless. I can understand human writing. Words have meanings, and anyone with a brain can comprehend them. What is necessary to understand is putting them in their proper cultural and historical context. Your claims of the Koran can be made about any holy book, whether the Bible, the Gita, the Vedas, or the Book of the Dead. Only to a Muslim is the Koran so mysterious
Remember a ... ( 23 hours ago by DolittleZoo)
Remember a sophisticated plane doesnt fly on faith, it flies on design wind tunnel tested after yielding consistent results on experimentation. Such a model is not available for the quran. And remember notably that the plane has evolved from the time it was built to now and continues to evolve, not so the quran. The plane's designs welcome criticism to develop it whilst the quran critics are killed or fatwas put against their heads. It is a meaningless comparison actually.
Indeed words have ... ( 23 hours ago by Nawas7)
Indeed words have meanings. Synonyms for instance have slight differences but it could lead to huge differences in meanings if its put in some contexts. Not all verse of the Koran are complex, especially those that talks about basic beliefs & commandments. This is why I mentioned Koran 3: 7
I was reading that ... ( 23 hours ago by DolittleZoo)
I was reading that it seems the rightly guided caliphs all ignored old Mo's rule of 4 wives only.
Muhammads successor, Caliph Umar married 7 women and had 2 slave concubines. The Caliph Uthman married 8 women. The Caliph Ali (Muhammads son-in-law) had 11 wives and 19 slave concubines. Muhammads grandson, Hassan, married 70 women and had at least 31 children.
Passages such as ... ( 23 hours ago by chained2it)
Passages such as Koran 3:7 seem designed to let religious leaders play with interpretations to suit themselves. Its kind of like when Christian say something is a "mystery of God" when the bible seems to contradict itself. Its a way of protecting itself against criticism. If God wants me ti understand something and live by it, then he will make it comprehensible. Society cannot be governed by mysticism
That is one of the ... ( 23 hours ago by ahlam33)
That is one of the miracles of the Quran. It is complete, needs no experimentation or improvements. And no one has been able to "crack" its mysteries or write anything like it. That challenge was put forth by Allah in the Quran. 2:23-24; 85:21-22.
Nawas7 - I have to ... ( 23 hours ago by chained2it)
Nawas7 - I have to agree with DolittleZoo in this point. You speak from the POV of a true believer. That makes little sense to non-Muslims. We do not see the Koran as you do, so such claims seem to us like so much mumbo jumbo, and certainly not a basis fro ruling the lives of men. I use my God-given mind to analyze all religious messages. I refuse to accept anything strictly on faith if my heart and mind tell me they are wrong. God gave me the ability to discern fact from fiction for a reason
What is so ... ( 23 hours ago by chained2it)
What is so wonderful about the Koran that no one can write anything like it? I have read it. I was not so amazed. I fail to see how it is fundamentally different than other holy books. And I see no mystery to crack
"Synonyms for ... ( 23 hours ago by chained2it)
"Synonyms for instance have slight differences but it could lead to huge differences in meanings if its put in some contexts" Yes, and that is why I said all ancient books need to be read with an understanding of their context and references. But those are simply nuances of language, not divine mysteries

Non of the 4 ... ( 21 hours ago by Nawas7)
Non of the 4 Caliphs had violated the Islamic rules of marriage. It happens that some of their wives had died, so they married other women. Some of the Caliphs had divorced women for different reasons, & married another. Beside youre number are incorrect.
In the US people have intimate relations with 7 different partners on average before they reach the age of retirement. This includes partners they cheat on their spouses with.
Totally. ( 18 hours ago by ahlam33)
Totally.
The caliphs like ... ( 9 hours ago by DolittleZoo)
The caliphs like old Mo in all cases had slave girls (Ali being the worst) which in a proper religion apart from islam is adultery. So muslims can indeed have temporary wives by this practice in their homes. Another trick the caliphs seem to have used was when they saw someone they fancied they divorced or killed their existing wives so muslims could somehow see 4 wives that were legally married at any one time. The divorced women were probably still in the harem to meet the requisite number.
Nawas, it is quite ... ( 9 hours ago by DolittleZoo)
Nawas, it is quite shameful that you are trying to compare a so called rightfully guided caliph to a citizen of the United States. Your comparisons are quite baffling in their lack of context.
Islam is just a ... ( 6 hours ago by FHNOGAL)
Islam is just a grotesque terrorist dogma dressed up as a religion. Remember Beslan, On September 1, 2004, muslim terrorists stormed a school in Beslan, Russia, and perpetrated one of the most heinous terror attacks in history.
In the name of allah and the Koran, Muslim terrorists raped and killed dozens of little children. I just hope GOD sends those filthy islamic butchers to eternal hell for eternal suffering.
All I am asking is ... ( 21 minutes ago by DolittleZoo)
All I am asking is Ali married 9 wives. I know Fatimah died but how did 8 wives become 4?? I know he had at least 12 servants he used to copulate with as there were 18 odd children he had to show for it. The "rightly guided caliphs" surely demonstrate that temporary marriages in islam is just fine. Am I right??
