this is pure gold...Ella basically created the song...the show tune version isnt comparable.. but if you get a chance to hear it, Blossom Dearie does a version, very much based on Ella's, which has its own appeal...she has probably the thinest voice of any jazz singer ever, but theres a vulnerability to it which suits the song......

I am assuming that you put "THATS" in capitals because you are saying that Amy Winehouse is better jazz than Ella Fitzgerald. Are you serious? Ella is classic and pure. She has a smooth Jazz sound that I have never heard from Amy Whinehouse (yes I know that is spelt wrong) Amy is good. Her whiney voice has made jazz popular with the trend happy youth of today, and I applaude her for that. But she will never have the timeless quality that Ella has! Ella Fitzgerald could be the definition of jazz!

yeah I was. it can't really be compared to ellas version which is magical... but willie does do a great job with it, you know, with his own willie style - simplicity and honesty.
