An amazing man Morricone....so humble, low profile, dignified. Not to be seen on big chat shows, never boastful, behind the scenes, not concerned about flashy appearance.
Yet his music speaks for itself....
The Ecstacy of Gold, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Mission, The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, The Dollar films, Cinema Paradiso, Once Upon a Time in America and so on.
Atmospheric, evocative, haunting, stirring, nostalgic, emotional.....GENIUS!

That man's thumb movement visually distracts me from an otherwise perfect performance of a perfect piece of music. Every oboe player knows not to move the left hand out of position. Geez.

The first time I listened to the mission soundtrack, I was amazed. I felt like I couldn't move for a while; otherwise I would ruin the moment. Now I listen to Ennio Morricone at least once a day. I listen to Gabriel's Oboe a lot.

For starters, no Jesuits actually took place in the military resistance to the Guarani. As soon as the papacy told them to leave, they did, those that stayed were actually imprisoned by the Guarani because they could not be trusted. So the whole 2nd half of the movie is bogus, and arguably included because dead Jesuits are a lot more sympathetic to an American audience than the Guarani (who, by the way, never actually get a chance to speak in the movie).

Im sorry... u r wrong... Jesuit order didnt resit, but there were individual Jesutis who stayed w the indians, those jesuits were portayed as evil charcters in our literature, read Basilio da Gama. Any more doubt about my country history, just ask

I just said that some stayed, but they did not militarily resist. I've been studying Latin American history at a doctoral level for the last 6 years, I don't need to ask you for information. No offense.
