Good god, but this is beautiful. I can't tell for sure, but it looks as if partway through this video, an older version of Mark Hollis is singing. And then it seems that we return to a very young (probably early 30s) Hollis, and the contrast is jarring. The younger Hollis's beatific smile, as he sings the words "Spirit" and "Hear it" - very compelling, and kind of melancholy, and kind of sad. And I'm not even sure exactly why.

Not that there is anything wrong with the first 2 albums. They were running with the pack, but the last three.....well they were well ahead of the pack. The same can be said of the band Japan. The first 3 albums were....ahem...and the last 3 were amazing albums. You don't get to see a bands evolution these days. Just pump out the singles for the big wigs who don't know a thing about music as art, and only have the $ signs as indicators. We live in musically barren times !
