It's almost impossible to keep a copy of his greatest hits. Someone always wants to borrow it and then you never get it back. So you always have to buy another copy and try really hard not to lend it out again.

When I was in 3rd grade, on Fridays we could bring records to play for the class for fun. I brought the 45 RPM single of Fly Like an Eagle and the class hated it. Then, some kid put on Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light" and the whole class loved it. I got ripped! Never liked Manfred Mann since or ever!

I remember when this record came out in '76 on "wax" and (oh, no) "8-Track". It was a great time to be alive. The songs still to this day hold my interest. SMB was the greatest band of the 70's!

I still prefer his earlier work. "Song for Our Ancestors" and "Jackson-Kent Blues" just can't be beat. I wished he had done more like those two songs. It's alos a shame that his album "Rock Love" never caught on. I don't believe it has even been put on CD.
