Even today, albinos in South Africa face widespread prejudice and discrimination. Rejected by both the black and white communities, they struggle to find their place in society.
"Some women spit when they see me. They think albinism is contagious and that will stop them catching it", confides albino Ntswaki. Both her parents are black but because of her white skin her father rejected her at birth. "I feel I am in strange place -- not white enough, not black enough."

My mom's family has a lot of albinos and i have a high probability to have an albino child. It scares me a little to know that in future i can have a child just like this girl. I have cousins, uncles, aunts who are albinos and i dont't see nothing wrong about it. In order for me to not have an albino child, i have to choose well my husband. i have to make sure that he doesn't have any albino ancestor in his family.

they are gorgeous!i think albinism is the most beautiful and interesting conditon, although :
-i totally understand how serious that genetical disease is(As far as I know the main problem lays in the lack of enzymes that are responsible in catalyzing the synthesis of melanin)
- i can imagine how the convoying problems such as sensitive skin and eye problems interfere with your life.
- and i'm baffled why people make it so hard just to ACCEPT and SEE the beauty/in just about everything.

That's the attitude that baffles me. "Everything's beautiful," it's deceptively profound. It's like saying "Everything's art" or "All ideas are equal." It's just a way of saying nothing matters and there's no real truth or beauty, it's almost nihilistic. I'm sure she's a wonderful person, but that's a separate issue.
