I don't want to be mean. But could some one message me what the moral of Spring Awakening is besides SEX. Cuz i just see that when i hear or see it. It's filthy. Rent is dirty, but actually has a moral to the story.

Actually they don't USE the mics. They have headsets hence you can hear them speaking even when the mic isn't out. It's just a prop used for emphasis during some of the more powerful rock ballads.

rents not even dirty, and spring awakening definitely isnt filthy sex is a huge part of life and growing up and self discovery so why shouldnt playwrights explore these issues? the main theme of the story is that parents need to try harder to connect with their children and help them grow and understand life. its much more than sex and its a beautiful story about love and growth. also i mean a lot of Shakespeare is just as dirty and violent and no one ever complains about him...

actually...they do use real hand mics.(a friend of mine is in the touring casts)
they use both headsets and hand mics.
the sound techs are just really that good at switching them quickly :-P

I would argue that the Spring Awakening sex scenes are very tastefully done, they aren't pornographic, they are realistic and truthful. It's also about love, self discovery, growing up, the effects of society's repression, and depression. Please comment back, I would love to discuss this further with you.

did you ever think that maybe the moral isn't just "SEX", as you rudely put it, but just being safe and responsible? The message of the show is to teach kids how to be responsible, and it portrays all of the issues that teenagers have. It's amazing to see that during the time period of the show, the issues among teenagers are the same issues we deal with today. My question for you is... have you ever seen the show? Or have you just judges it on things you've heard and videos you've seen...?

yeh but moritz stole the show. i saw Brandon(moritz) on broadway in new york and had to see spring awakening again, and he was even better the second time.
