I am stating what it says in Marx and Engel's manifesto. It ways that government would whither away once everything was set in motion. I know that anarchism is similar in the idea that there is no authority, but it is not what I am thinking of. Trust me, I have a thorough understanding of both political ways.

That is only in the transition stage towards communism: Socialism. When the state is setting everything in motion, a group of dedicated people may keep them under watch so they don't become corrupt. Then the state dissolves when all is set in motion.

But communism is not a political status, but an economical status. The government owns all major means of production, so there needs to be a government. Socialism I believe it doesn't matter if there is a leader or not, as well as capitalism.

Well that all depends on the situation of where you are. If you are trying to directly get a country towards communism, then you use the transitional phase. But some places are heading towards this communistic society whether they realize it or not. The means of production are supposed to be held in common by all the people. So what use is a government. Yes, communism does have its economic importance. But it is also a way of life.

but that's not going to happen, the state forms a set of classed interests with the power to maintain themselves. This attracts power hungry individuals who will ensure this happens. This is why so main far-right dictators's chain of command contain so many "former" marxists: they left the promotion of one permanent dictatorship for another.
