i dont like terry bozio,
i wastched one of his "solo's"
and he had this HUGE kit,
and he sued 3 toms, and 2 cymbals th whole 5 minutes.
and mike is in a side project,
in which he does use a smaller kit.

I agree, Terry is very overrated. I saw a video of Tony Royster Jr. playing on Bozzio's drum set and he sounded A LOT better than Terry himself.

what's funny is Royster did not do that well.. he just went around the kit more than Bozzio. Terry does it much more artistic, so appreciate it, don't bash it.

Drummer for Tool. Crazy time signatures. Schism is in like 6.5/4(13/8) I think. Dance of Eternity by Dream theater has more wierd time singatures that change constantly.120+ time signature changes in that song. Danny Carey is a beast. Maybe not better than Portnoy but without a doubt amazing.

not ewually awesome, i admit i not as familier with carey's work but the stuff from him ive heard is really really good, but not as good as portnoys stuff but thats so hard to do its almost unfair having to be compared to mike portnoy because his stuff makes everyone look bad lol he shows em up!

No doubt i could be here until the end of time but alas, i have other things to do. The forum that mike portnoy has do display his playing is vastly different to that with which danny carey does. This, obviously, affects how people view their respective playing. You can think of dream theatre as a platform where all of the members are essentially soloing most of the time. With tool on the other hand, danny carey has to compliment the music more than have a personal focus on him.

this is going to sound wrong...but if your so anti-mike portnoy danny carey is god when hes really not, then why don't you go watch his videos dream theater songs aren't even close to all solos in fact most of the parts that portnoy plays compliment the other parts well especially some of the keyboard parts which aren't very audible so it only sounds that way
