As far as I'm concerned, Linda's version of this is the best. She puts her heart and soul into the song, and defines its meaning. You can hear the longing in her voice. Also, her phrasing of the hooky rhythm in "...he may not be the man some girls think of as handsome..." is CORRECT. Her voice reaches out for the hand she seeks. It's a fabulous performance, and if it doesn't bring a tear to your eye, there's an emoitional vacuum preventing it. BRAVISSIMO!

Man, she's terrific. One of the truly underrated performers of the 20th century. Why can't we get legitimate voices like these as adjudicators on American Idol. Too classy I suppose.

NOW THIS---is total female vocal perfection !! The only other voice that was in the same class belonged to Karen Carpenter. I would have given anything to have heard them in a duet !!!! Music like this lives--FOREVER !!!!

Linda Ronstadt does a great job on this Gershwin standard. Nelson Riddle was one of the greatest arranger/conductors of the 50s. His work with Sinatra set a standard.

Was at Radio City Music Hall to see this show. Has to be the most enjoyable show I have ever seen. And I have seen Linda many times, but this show with the big band and Nelson Riddle was just so very enjoyable. Beautiful song sung by a most beautiful lady.
