This song is so nice... And GitS is best anime ever. It has so much meaning if you only try look deeper. I even read few Salinger's books beacuse of SAC. ^^ (And those hilarious tachikoma. ^^)

It is anime=a type of cartoon. Just cause it's a cartoon doesn't mean it's for kids. The very first cartoons were actually meant for adults. Family Guy is a cartoon.

XD I just figured something out that I find amusing. The animation is Japanese with a song that is sung in English, Russian, and a little Latin. I'm not a 100% sure but I think the Subtitles are Chinese. Ghost in The Shell sure has some diversity in it.! LOL Great song and anime. I can't get enough of them. :)

Agreed, it's so deep and encompasses so many aspects a person could speak on about Ghost in the Shell for days and still go. Just the basic concept behind a Stand Alone Complex is so vast it even brushes such opposite extremes as individualists and social dependents at once somehow. All at once a giant paradox, and not. Nice way to sum it up, more a type of culture than a cartoon.

I'd say the same, good way of going more deep into it. Aswell, if you look at other complicated animes like for example Ergo Proxy (really recommend it for GitS fans), you will start noticing a great difference between animes and cartoons, where cartoons are more about entertainment and animes more about society. Sure, many people might think "Nah its just cartoon because it's done with pencils and not with a camera". Sure, but heres my question for those guys. Is art a cartoon?

Excellent question to toss out for that view. I almost have to acknowledge it as more in that it's a masterpiece in terms of animation -and- how in depth the basic story is, which makes it more of a 'culture' than a simple one track cartoon. 2nd GIG is the better example of this IMO with the three forms of episodes it has, all linking separate parties into one. GitS is similar to a long movie with an in depth social plot, only longer, which is why GitS is one of my favorites. Nice question.

When comparing to other series, not one is yet to meet the same complex way of thinking that has aroused in GitS. Although yet to see 2nd GIG and the old originals, which I hope to see til the end of this year, I can state already that what I've seen so far from S.S.S. and 1st GIG, this could very well be treated as a modern masterpiece. Not would officials treat it as what it truly is, thy when have officials declared anything not gaining something upon it. A GitS fan knows this far too well.

I understand what you're saying, and while I agree anime such as GitS and Death Note, for example, are far above and beyond cartoons such as say Sponge Bob and Family Guy, they are still technicaly cartoons, anime or not.
