'79 ferrari was very competitive but gilles did too many mistakes and the championship was won by teammate scheckter...altought gilles was great!!

Her was going to win 82, without a doubt. And I bet McLaren or Williams would have bagged him the second his contract with Ferrari ended, too. It would have been legendary seeing him, Senna and Mansell dancing around Monacco together.

Villeneuve was under team orders not to pass Scheckter. No orders and he would have been Champion in 79. One of the reasons he was so upset at San Marino in 82. He played the game when he was number two and when he became Ferrari's team leader he expected the same. Pironi passed Villeneuve on the last lap when they both were told to hold station to guarantee a 1-2 finish. Villenueve died at the next race.

I know,but in 1979 there were team orders only when scheckter was clearly favourite for the world championship....and I don't want to remember how sad was 1982 season...
