| I don't know, TMV at least has melodys and funk, not just jarring time signature changes. But yes, I'm sure the same thing can be said seeing as it frequently is. I at least remember the tune to a TMV song after I hear it. |

| True, but the Mars Volta's live shows are often extensively improvised or deterrents from their original studio recordings, which to many listeners, can be equally as off-putting as odd time signatures. But both are very important aspects to their respective styles of music. And I can hum a Hella song on the spot just as I could a Mars Volta track, but catchiness and accessibility isn't supposed to be the determiner for what music. |

| Music doesn't have to sound like anything we've heard before, these guys have created something new, so have TMV, I'm convinced. Familiarity is what we tend to use to judge music, whether one band compares to another, the trouble lies where bands start to get too progressive. |
