I got into masters ... ( 1 week ago by sriram87)
I got into masters by following his advice. I pray to god that his family is safe and sound.
actually, it had ... ( 6 days ago by KingOfTheBritains)
actually, it had nothing to do with his dying, and everything to do with his living. he could have been fine and given this speech and it still would have put people on a better path. but what got to a lot of people was his ability to still live. He didn't tell us anything we didn't already know, he just put it into terms that hit home, and the fact that he was dying made us all see what we had taken for granted in a new light. he wasn't anyone special when he spoke, but we made him special.
he felt really weak ... ( 6 days ago by KingOfTheBritains)
he felt really weak before going out because of the chemo. he says so in the book, but the the minute he got out there, the adrenaline kicked in. It was his...i dunno...passion? in the book he says, if he were a musician, he would have sang, an artist, paint. but he was a teacher, and so he lectured. he had to. he says, a wounded lion still likes to know it can roar.

This peculiar QFT ... ( 3 days ago by meloaks)
This peculiar QFT acronym expression stands for "Quoted For Truth". It is an expression of agreement and support, where the user stands behind you and one of your statements. This commonly occurs in controversial topics where opinions are very heated, and people will choose sides in an argument. If someone "quotes you for truth",they are paying you a compliment, and siding with you in the discussion.
This QFT expression, like many other internet expressions,is part of online conversation culture.

Amazing how ... ( 14 hours ago by qwexas)
Amazing how GhostMan800 expresses an opinion, and gets attacked for it. I disagree with his opinion, since I think Randy is interesting and smart, but I have some of my own opinions and don't want to be attacked for them. We should welcome opinions that don't match our own, it may expand our minds. Seems like it's illegal to criticize the dead. When I die, I don't expect exemption from criticism. As Randy said about aplause "Make me earn it". NOBODY can earn EVERYONE's regard
