There are IDIOTS all over YOU TUBE putting BO and his SOUND "DOWN". 99% OF all ROCKERS WORSHIPPED THIS MAN AND WISHED TO BE LIKE HIM. He took "I'VE GOT SPURS THAT JINGLE AND JANGLE" by GENE AUTRY and turned it into one of the most influential SOUNDS of ROCK&ROLL that was twisted and turned by many artists. Most of them SAW BO ONCE and it LIT THEIR FIRE. He was my friend and I booked him first in 1958 at one of my RECORD HOPS in WELLSVILLE,OHIO when I first started in RADIO. THEMOJOMAN(.)COM

Appearing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1955, Mr. Diddley was asked to play Tennessee Ernie Ford's "Sixteen Tons" Without telling Mr. Sullivan, he played "Bo Diddley" instead. Afterward, in an off-camera confrontation, Mr. Sullivan told him that he would never work in television again. Mr. Diddley did not play again on a network show for 10 years.

Fabulous story, and I'm sorry for your personal loss. Bear in mind that a lot of these people are children, and they don't know but what's on MTV. They just need an education, that's all. Bo came off as a bitter old man in his later years, but he was right about a lot of things. It's great to see this hall-of-famer memorialized in video. I loved his lady guitarists, too - back when there was a bias against women rockers, he used them, and they weren't just props. They could play with style!

It's SO SAD and TOO BAD that these KIDS these days won't get to see and hear what WE SAW and HEARD. REAL,RAW,GUT BUCKET ROCK&ROLL and W.L.A.C. way down SOUTH IN DIXIE on the "JOHN R" show in NASHVILLE,TENN at the 1510 spot on your RADIO DIAL.

Bo was my friend and I will miss him the rest of my life. When I started in RADIO,BO was one of the very first RECORDING STARS I BOOKED for my many RECORD HOPS. But BO made the mistake of selling his songs,he never reaped the rewards he could have with those royalties. And like a lot of early stars always owed the record companies MUCH ADVANCEMENT MONEY. NEVER SAVING OR INVESTING.
