Not at all, we say ... ( 3 weeks ago by Philly666lol)
Not at all, we say Allo a LOT, I don't know if you're a French-speaking person who is living in a 100% French environment like me but if not, mind your thoughts because we do NOT only say Allo when we pick up the phone, we also use it to greet, really often. We also say Salut which is the equivalent of Hi.
Bonjour = Good morning/good day and sometimes to say "good bye" Allo = Hello Salut = Hi and "good bye"

I purchased the Michel Thomas French foundation course from The Language Specialist on Amazon for a bargain price and have found Michel Thomas course, so effective and there is nothing out there that could compete with his style of teaching. I have learned so much French in 1 week, that i can't wait to practice in France.. The best thing about MT audiobooks is the fact you don't need to take notes, no homework. It's so easy it actually unrealistic. Can't wait to learn German and Italian next

Sorry for bein' a ... ( 1 day ago by Philly666lol)
Sorry for bein' a bit late, but I would :) Actually, in Canada, it's only in the province of Quebec that we speak French (and I'm a quebecer, or french canadian...)
I mean, its sure that there are ppl who speak French across Canada but Quebec is THE place, it's predominantly French, but different expressions, names sometimes and ways of speaking than in France... anyways Quebec is more "united" in the way of saying things/pronouncing them because France has a
lot of different "communities"
Ok, "j'sais" means ... ( 1 day ago by Philly666lol)
Ok, "j'sais" means "je sais" (I know) it's just a contraction like "it's" instead of "it is" but in French "it's" is ALWAYS in a contracted form ("c'est" or, when not contracted "ceci/cela/
ça est" but you can't put a word beginning with a vowel after a word that ends with one, it just doesn't work) So that's it and don't hesitate if you have questions :)
"comment tu ... ( 1 day ago by Philly666lol)
"comment tu t'appelles" means "what is your name" it's just that there are different ways of sayin' it, for example : Quel est ton nom?
If I translate word for word : Comment tu t'appelles? = How are you called? Comment vous vous appellez?* = How are you called? Quel est ton nom? = What is your name? *I didn't make a mistake by putting two "vous", also, the "t" in "t'appelles" is "tu" Hope it helped and don't hesitate if you go
t questions There are more diff ways of sayin it tho
Lol, you're right, ... ( 23 hours ago by Philly666lol)
Lol, you're right, but there are exceptions on both sides of the sea...
