| He's not saying he's average. He's saying he's the average millionaire. Meaning that he has an old car and doesn't like to flaunt his wealth by buying show-off stuff. Tom Stanley's book "The Millionaire Next Door" statistically shows how most REAL millionaires don't live like what we think millionaires live like. |

| I'm on baby step one. I'm secrectly saving money in my room. With a no touch basis no matter what. We hardley had any food one week..and well..I didn't touch it. I seem to be more serious about this than my husband. |

| This concept is so easy to follow and attain.Even though I did not have Dave Ramsey to guide me to my debt free lifestyle,I used common sense years ago to attain my goals.The use of credit has destroyed so many people financially.I recommend using cash for all future purchases.Good luck everyone!!!! |

| Dude, he's a millionaire, and it's HIS money. He is probably more happy married than you are single! Besides, if he owns it, and he wants to sell it, he will get a good return on his investment, and he can enjoy it at the same time without worrying about payments. |

| Just thought I'd point out... that $15K a month... that's the interest (at 5% APY) on $4,000,000. This guy saved his whole life, and now makes $15K a month to do nothing. Live like no-one else and later you can live like no one-else. |

| This was posted in October 2007, when the Dow was around 14,000. Let's assume the call was made around then. As of today (11/20/08) the Dow is below 8,000, a decrease of more than 40%. If he was 100% in stocks (let's hope he wasn't), he'd now have roughly $2.3 million. Probably still enough for the lake house, but he would've lost about $1.7 MILLION in the past 13 months. OUCH! Let's hope he wasn't too heavily weighted in emerging markets or financials, because that's been even worse! |
