Yeah I agree Drummerofchicago, Buddy Rich was the best in his time, but he was also the worst personality wise. In his band it was considered an honor to not be fired by him in your first practice session

im a seasoned drummer and i do understand that there are phenomonal drummers out there. But it takes a special drummer to understand that buddy was just a bit of a step ahead of everyone else past and present, irregardless of your musical preference. There are many many quotes from some of the most famous drummers today who state him as one of a kind

wow thanks for the upload...great clip. Of course Buddy Rich is amazing but Ed Shaughnessy was a great, great drummer also...crazy how the Late Night Shows got some incredibly talented drummers like Shaughnessy and one of my all time favs Anton Fig on Letterman.
