His beliefs about pluralism explain why he can go to Jewish synagogues and never mention the name of Christ, or appear at secular conferences or shows like "Cmdy Centrl" -omitted- and never once mention Jesus and the way of eternal salvation. He's content to let them believe what they want, he'll believe what he wants, while we meanwhile all hold hands, talk endlessly about "God" smiling down on us as we fulfill our purposes and work to solve the world's problems. (Not, of course, the problem of eternal damnation of souls who are lost without Jesus Christ. I am not sure Rick even believes this any longer. You cannot believe in the Gospel and believe that Christ is the only way to heaven, and fail to share it with so many who are on their way to hell.)

My friend, you have no idea what I may know about the Koran and Islam. As a matter of fact my educational and experiential knowledge regarding a variety of faiths happens to be considerably above average. If my goal is to help the poor, and the person from "religion x" wants to help the poor, we don't have to discuss religion at all. If we do discuss it we may find we agree on that point and disagree on many other things. It doesn't require that I change my faith.

I read English and Spanish well, and my Greek and Hebrew/Syriac Aramaic are improving. Have we run out of contextually incorrect arguments and incomplete scriptural understanding so we have to resort to personal attacks? I never claimed that Moses or Mohammad had anything to do with it, I pointed out that some people in the world happen to believe they did. We don't need to share their beliefs, but we shouldn't hate them or not care for the least of them because we happen to disagree with them.

Islam is the antithesis of the teachings of Jesus. Do you know anything of prophecy? Do you know anything of the 12 kings descended from Ishmael? Do you know from whom Mohammad is descended? Do you know what any of that really means in the grand scheme of things? Have you been asleep? Contextually incorrect? Hardly. Being reborn is not textually incorrect, and Warren NEVER mentions it.

"We don't need to share their beliefs" is what I said, and you knowingly took it out of context. In the context of the question asked "being reborn" is not even remotely related to the answer. You are being critical of the man based on one snipit out of his whole life. This is why we are told not to judge. Judgment made my man is always incomplete, because we are not Omniscient ans so our judgment always "misses the mark" meaning it is always sin "lest we be judged"

I am basically a preterist, meaning I believe prophecy was fulfilled with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD. This is also, by the way most consistent with the early church fathers and the disciples themselves who expected "The end of the age" would come during "that generation" read the New Testiment, it's pretty clear. But, due to my fundamentalist upbringing, and education since I now exactly who and how Mohammad relates to "prophecy". I just don't buy it.

Rick is talking about people of faith, ANY faith so this has nothing to do with "divided church" Also, He is not telling them that the answer is Jesus, he is saing the answer is us, we have the man power, we have the logistics, and it will be chaeper for you because our volunteers and churhes are a bunch of morons who just do as we tell them. My comment was satirical, I wanted to comment with something comparatively ridiculous. The issue has everything to do with a church internally divided and externally isolated from other faiths. One reason the church is divided is that for any Christian who does good things, there is no lack of "christians" willing to speak evil against them and condemn them. And disagree with many others on issues of doctrine. However, I would never presume to say they aren't christians or say theyre going to hell. And isolating ourselves from others who advocate living by spiritual teachings FROM ANY TRADITION weakens our effectiveness in the world. Why shouldn't we LIVE the Gospel? Why not actually do what Jesus says, as well as preach HIS teachings. That would go a long way to spreading The Word and create a better world as a fringe benefit.

As to the "answer is Jesus" that may be true in an ultimate sense, however, that often leads to a type of spiritual denial. If your house is on fire, hanging a picture of Jesus in the living room won't put the fire out, you need the fire department. Hungry people need to be fed, and once physical survival concerns are off the table they will be much better able to receive spiritual sustenance. They will be much more receptive to you as a teacher since you have demonstrated concern for them.
