Video Description:
Our way of life changes as the beat goes on. Hey its me again Dave Tor from Poor Person Productions with another of my songs. This ones found on my 'EarCandy' Blossom- album. The video was made with more bits and pieces I had laying around and created. Album to be found on my Ebay site -poorpproductions - Thanks for listening. Oh here's more about me. Hello I'm Dave Tor here in the UK with my good lady and wife of 21 years Mandie. I'm also owner of Poor Person Productions, of which I have produced and released collectable albums on vinyl and CD's of limited editions of psychedelic, psych-rock and rock music, along with comedy CD albums and DVD movies and concerts, which have been sold around the world. My vinyl releases can be found in Record Collector Guides and other music books such as 'Adrift In The Ether' on psychedelic music of the 90's. Towards the end of the last century I produced 23 albums by my bands "EarCandy, Mynd Muzic, T-H-C Roller, Purple Algae, Ozley's Acid, Dave, Apotheosis, Fump, The Bus Trip, Yiannis, Euphoric Darkness, The Famous Unknowns and a 2CD compilation album with a track from every album including unreleased tracks and a live track called "The Poor Persons Productions Ear Taster Album. I only produced albums, no single. Along with recording and producing from my own studio I also perform, and with Mandie we wrote many of the songs for the musicians to play that I gathered together over the years. Before doing the music I also wrote, performed and produced 7, 60 minute comedy albums of a fictitious radio station and audio 'B' movies from Dawlash Warren Devon, along with 3, 90 minute comedy video film's. I also create works of unusual art which are humorous collage pictures I call "False Reality Art", and presently writing novels. (See my pics for my pics and catalogue page.)
About my Label. Poor Person Productions is a small but very interesting record label that I started in June 1986 of the last century when I had a small record in St. George's Market, Exeter. (Now sadly closed down by the counsil.) But way before that I used to be a stand-up comic in the mid to lat
e 1970's in Los Angeles where I originally hale from, until permanently moving to the UK in January 1985. Along with the records, CD's and cassettes I sold in my shop at the time, I also wanted to sell my own brand of TV satire comedy at first. So I put together a small recording studio and starte
d recording and selling my 60 minute comedy cassettes which I also sold in my shop. I first released 7 albums until 1989, which 5 of them are about a broadcasting day at radio station in Dawlish Warren called Radio W.A.R.T. There called "The Brad Caster Show", The Wally Wank Show", The Jess Tossin S
how", The Willy Dick Show Starring Dick Willy" and W.A.R.T.'s The Monsters That Ate Dawlash Warren". The 2 other are horror comedy albums called "It, The Mad Manic Monster From Mars" & "The Monsters Without a Crotch", which I called Audio 'B' Movies. Then in 1990 I began to make 90 minute comedy video films, of which each one took almost a year to complete, and released 3 of them by July of 1993. They're called "W.A.R.T Video TV", "Muchness Of Nothingness" and "Daydreaming At Night". Between the cassettes and videos I sold over 1200 copies from my shop with no advertising. Just word of mouth.
I was also and still am a lover of psychedelic, psych-rock and rock music, and after selling so many records of other peoples music I thought, "Hey, if they can do it, so can I". So in September 1993 I began recording and producing my first of many music albums with local musicians. By December 93
I had released the first of PPP's album releases with bands I had created for my label called: 'EarCandy' -4 albums titled, "Space Is Just A Place" "Time Is Just A State Of Mind" "Sound Is Just The Way You Ear It" "Tasting 1,2,3 Tasting" and "Blossom". 'Mynd Muzic' -3 albums titled, "Imagine This"
"I?" and Muzical Myndz". 'T-H-C Roller' -"This Must Be The Joint". 'The Purple Algae' (a local band) -"Adrift On A Sea Of Sound". 'Ozley's Acid' -"Sunflower". 'The Bus Trip' -Beyond The Cornfields". 'Euphoric Darkness' (recorded with a mexican band called Frolic Froth and also known as Humus) -Colou
rs You Can Hear". 'Apotheosis' -2 albums titled "Synchronized KAOS" & Assorted Tails From The Duckpond". 'Fump' -"Thump". 'Dave' -2 albums titled "Dave" & "Hallucinations Of Reality". 'Yiannis' -"Millennium". 'The Famous Unknowns' -"Evolving Within A Chaotic Universe", which was the last album I produced in February 2000. There was also an album released to our fan club called the "Psychedelic Party Album" in 1995, and a "Copyright Free Soundtrack Album" for people who needed background music for their films.
Now I know Dave Tor & Poor Person Productions is not exactly a household name nor will many of you have heard about what I've created, but what I have done is to create another one of many small production companies that produce a very flavourful, and worth looking into products of entertainment for those who like to venture off the beaten path of mainstream productions. I also sell 3 reggae concert DVD's that I filmed live back in 1993 & 1994 of the "Revolutionary Dub Warriors", "Aqua Levi" and "Vitamin X". These are very rare concerts not to be found anywhere else and a must for reggae collectors.
The first Mynd Muzic and first 4 EarCandy albums, along with T-H-C Roller and The Purple Algae albums were all released on limited edition vinyl of 500 & 600 copies each, with the rest of my albums being released on limited edition CD's. The 1st Mynd Muzic album, "Imagine This" and the 3rd EarCandy Lp, "Sound Is Just The Way You Ear It" were licensed and reissued on CD's by Lone Starfighter Records in Texas, USA.
My Poor Persons Productions label is just a very small fish in the sea of earthly production companies, and I advertise no further than here on Ebay and word of mouth these days. But I have so far sold over 10,000 copies of my releases in over 40 countries around the world, and have been favourabl
y written about in a number of music magazines in Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium and here in the UK. (Also see what people have to say about my releases in my feedbacks who have bought them.) But in September 2000 I stopped producing music and moved on to other interest. But I still sell all the P
PP albums released on my Ebay site under 'poorpproductions'. So please have a look if I've got your interest. Also my wife Mandie, who wrote many of the lyrics to the music I produced, is a published poet and has just released her own little poetry book called "Pocket Poetry of Random Thoughts". I
t a collection of some of her short poems with a pictures for every poem that she also creates. If you would like any further information or samples of the albums to hear what your missing out on, then please contact me through YouTube or at Davtr841@aol.com . Thank you for looking and Enjoy the Day
Dave
