I am going to suggest that you pick up "The Elements of Style" by William Strunk and E.B. White. It's an easy read and your writing would be benefited dramatically.

Wrong! To announce a withdrawal date is idiotic. It's like a burglar announcing the hour he'll rob your house to the police can be ready for him. It's so stupid I'm surprised you even suggested it. He did and still opposes the surge which saved countless lives and wants to surrender Iraq for Afghanistan which has little strategic advantage for Iran or Middle East stability.
