Music isn't about showing off skills, being a moronic shredhead is about showing off skills. If that was all it was for, MAB and Rusty Cooley would be multimillionares, which they are far from. You write a song to make a sound you like or a statement of some kind, or even just to have some fun, but ifyour idea of fun is to play as fast as possible then you can expect precious little to come your way in terms of audience or respect.

Notice that whole bunch of people that are listening in awe of this guy.... that is what is known as an "Audience" you uneducated piece of shit, another thing sometimes a song doesnt need lyrics to send a message. Staying on topic take Glasgow Kiss for example, that song melts me, and it doesnt need lyrics to do that, the guitar is literally singing, if a person can conjure that sort of emotion and imagery with just their instrument they are amazing.Period.

I didn't say a thing about JP, the comment was addressed to the idea that showing off is the way to be a good musician. Any moron can tell that isn't the case. The vast majority of this song isn't showing off at all now is it? And its a good song, with a wide possible audience. Compare that to anything Rusty Cooley has ever written and the point should become clear. You do nothing but shred, you appeal to nobody but guitarists. I respect shredders, but they'll never blow me away like a good song

As for uneducated about music, I'm very far from it, and I have credentials to prove it from just about every angle, including the fact I'm a degree student of popular musics. Oh, and I never mentioned lyrics either. I said messageor sound you like. A message can be more or less than words.
