You can get them at pretty much any bookstore. They can be kinda boring what with all the walking and all, but it's definately worth it in my opinion.
Also pick up The Hobbit; best book ever written. And the Prose Edda, if you're into that kinda stuff. But don't get The Simarillion; boring as fuck. If you want to learn about Middle Earth that bad, you can find out all you need to know on Wikipedia. Hope I helped!

Well, it's kinda like watching Evil Dead before you watch Army of Darkness: It helps, but even though they're in chronological order they're not really sequential.
I would, though, because it does give you more backstory.
