yeah, ole chubs is Large in the sense of size, compared to the ever so fit Michael Shanks, as far as his carrer goes, it was lackluster, at best. the TV show and all its people was way better than that of the movie.

Ratings, it was Scifi's cash cow. numerous awards. Longest Running American Scifi television show. plot makes more sense, i mean really, why would a gate that has 39 symbols only travel to ONE other gate? is that enough, should i keep going?

Jeez, even I recognized those signs as constellations the first time I saw this movie. Who doesn't remember Orion's familiar shape from when they were kids? Even people familiar with hieroglyphs, and other writing like hieratic, demotic and cuneiform know those symbols don't look like anything like the standard alphabets.

You can say whatever about movies that win the Oscar. Far as I'm concerned, these 10 minutes are among the most powerful and fascinating in any movie. The great adventure. And not only, but wrapped in a fantastical sci-fi premise, about the possible alien nature of our science and tech.
