The thing about this video that REALLY stands out is having the Duchess playing that Gretsch guitar. Incredibly unique in that day. No one else had that. As the end of the video proves, she's really playing that guitar, and doing so beautifully. Wow.

It's not that chord that makes this song -- it's the amazing bouncing rhythm that he can wring out of it, just like the freight train rolling over tracks that bluesmen talk about.

simply freaking brilliant. The guy realized it was not just about playing, it was presentation, rhythm, style, performance, and establishing cool. we owe it all to these guys. check Wanda Jackson's Bakersfield shows for the white female version.

This has got nothing to do with technique. Many can play a hundred notes per second (something which belongs maybe more in the competitiveness of the sports-department) and still say nothing. Bo says it all and gives it his all with two. This is all about getting into a groove and letting it carry you away. But if you ain't into it, you ain't into it.

Sadly he died the 2nd of June this year. A great man and a great musician. The beatiful chick, with the guitar which Bo custom-made himself, is the Duchess. Find her on myspace.

It wasn't his insane guitar playing that got him famous. It was his sound and his rhythm. That guitar rhythm combined with the raw sound from those fenders is what distinguished him.

You've never really heard Bo Diddley because he created some of the greatest muic. Give a listen to Billy's Blues parts 1& 2 that's his band playing and not to many people could keep up with him. It's a known fact. He had a lot of hits with differnt styles of guitar playing.
